IIT Roorkee performances on YouTube

(IIT Roorkee won second place at the Pan IIT Diwali Dhamaka recently held in BayArea)
A huge thanks to ALL -
- the Roorkee volunteers
- the Roorkee kids (their cheering and enthusiasm - wow)
- the Roorkee audience
- All Roorkee supporters in spirit (even if you could not be there in person)
- Roorkee Judge sahib
and Mr. Arya Bhushan - what a way to start the event
What a show....I would have to say that this one was the best one yet.... any of the IITs could have ended up in the top list... a very entertaining eve all around.
We came in second at the Pan IIT Diwali Dhamaka - but we all had such a blast... all that hard work paid off.
Lets start with the dedicated parents - they drove their kids to soccer, tennis, music, dance, tutoring etc etc and still made it to our practices. We only had a handful of long practices left between the diwali dinner and then the Pan IIT show and we had to change the format etc. Couldn't have done it without you!!
Kudos also, to those parents that pulled out their kids after the Roorkee dinner function from the final performance because they felt that all the extra practice time etc would be impossible for their kids to maintain (we had 3 such kids/parents). An extremely pragmatic but hard to make decision. We made it real tough on ourselves with last minute changes (that were needed to meet the strict guidelines of the final Pan IIT show) and the extra hours and dedication were a complete must. I know I barely made it so I can only imagine how hard it was for our ever smiling kids.
Kudos to the volunteer moms and dads - the dress selection/purchase/stitching/stage management, building the prop, offering up your homes for practice till 1AM (twice). For bringing the snacks, for car pooling, for making the Jain auditorium and the ICC rooms available etc etc
To the dance teachers/ script writes/ overall coordinators - couldn't have done it without you all... It was sheer pleasure working with you all.. you did a great job boosting the kids' confidence.
To all the support in spirit - I got plenty of Go Roorkee GO!! emails from folks that couldn't be here in person but wished us the best
To the best Roorkee audience ever - we were 5th out of 7 in attendance but darn near the loudest in appreciation!!! great work guys. We had folks come straight down froma vacation in Napa, we also had one person fly up from LA !!
Final Result -
IIT B – Winner
IIT Roorkee – 2nd place
IIT Delhi – 3rd place.
